Here is my beautiful desk. If anyone has any information about what type of desk it is or what it may have been used for, I would love to hear your opinion. :)

Seeing out 2012
Out with the old, in with the new..... but if it's not broken why fix it? Hmmmmmm so true. It's New Years Eve 2012 and I am doing my final blog for the year. I was hoping to put a photo of my latest project up, but I shall describe it instead. It is an old desk, kept in my dad's garage for as long as I can remember, full of nuts & bolts and other greasy mens things. It is now in my shed, and I am going to bring it back to life and use it as my work desk to draw and paint and design on! Oh I'm excited! My husband discovered that the two really worn patches on the front edge are perfect position for resting your elbows! and my mother in law found some initials scratched in it.... we are all fascinated by it, and I don't actually want to over clean it... I'm intending to keep the old and add to the history.... and if I adhere to my New Years Resolutions 2013 is going to be a productive one for the old desk.... and the old loom..... and the old oil paints... and the new inspiration!

It has been too long... but life goes on! I have been doing a few things, such as weaving the back of some outdoor chairs that I brought BARGAIN price! I have used recycled materials, such as the cut off selvege of some satin fabric I got from resource rescue, and some nylon selvege from a factory Dad worked at many years ago, and the final chair was cut up plastic bags crocheted into a 22m strand of 'yarn'.... I shall take some photos and put them up soon.
I have also been working on the garden, vegi patch, and setting up my 'studio' space in the shed.... 'filling the well' so-to-speak...
I also want to tell you of some exhibitions I have been to.... but have to sort out a 'toy' dilema for my little fella right now!
HOW DO MOTHER'S GET TIME TO BLOG!
Bloggers... I salute you ._____.

clandestine images
Clandestine
The exhibition is over... I felt honoured to be included with the artists involved in this exhibition, including Becky James, Monique Revell, Mark Burban, Damian Stephens, Linnea Rundgren, Irene Torres, Anna Cunningham, Jessica Torres, and Mel Balkan. The range of mediums used was fantastic, making for interesting viewing.
Thanks to my friends who made it on the night, and for those who couldn't get there, I'm posting up my work for all to see.

Upcoming exhibition
I'm exhibiting in a group exhibiton on the 18th November "ONE NIGHT ONLY" in the Goodtime Studios
Basement 746 Swanston Street Carlton
Melbourne, Australia
The theme is "Clandestine" and is intended for fun and the love of art. My pieces are portraits of my children, a subject I love and enjoy painting.
Thanks Bec for including me!
I am also intending to be park of the Brooklyn Sketchbook Exhibition... just finalising a couple of friends and then we should be up and running...
Life is too short to be complacent.
